Bonjour Reva!

We love it when this boy from the house behind our back fence comes out from his gate and yells "Bonjour" over our side fence. Reva is exactly the kind of person we WANT to hop over our fence and play. He's like our own little secret garden kind of friend because we've lived side by side for a few months and he and my boys only just now discovered one another. We blame the fences.

  1. So tonight in Webelos I taught the boys about French and where they speak it. Also how to learn another language- I told about your family and how you have to learn French because they do not speak English at church. What fun to have a little boy next door to play with- and thank goodness he started to look over the fence.

  2. Lovely! I thought about you today in Gospel Doctrine. The lesson mentioned Brigham Young sending out missionaries around the world, including French Polynesia. They were summarily thrown out, after having converted a few people. I do hope the church is better received today!!

    Miss you lots...

  3. Kirten, the church is something of the most powerful of our experiences here. It is now VERY strong. The Tahitians are sincere and sweet in their faith. Every so many kilometers you can easily spot the LDS church by the side of the road. The members of our ward have truly been instrumental in making our experience here a positive one for us as they have embraced us as family and helped us discover the heart of the people of the island.

Robyn, Webolos! Go you! How does it compare to Young Women? I guess since you can sing all of the Sponge Bob, they probably loved you from day one. We love hearing our boys speak French. Slowly but surely, we're all learning something. Sometimes a little; sometimes a lot.
